Discovering and Encouraging Clergy Toward Enrollment with Interim Ministries-ABC

Area Ministers soon learn that expectations of them are high and extremely diverse. It is an art to be ready to comfort, motivate and teach a pastor needed skills in a "by the way" moment after a clergy breakfast. It is also something of an art to graciously agree to personally return the ABMen's president's box of leftover materials from last year.
One expectation we hold of you is the discovery of competent clergy who may have the knack for and a call to interim ministry. We need ordained and lay leaders, women and men, older and younger folk, liberal, conservative and lots between with the skills to be centrist in a time when opinions seem to run higher than love of God and unity. We are definitely willing to engage other than ABC clergy if you can provide assurance of their ability to work well in our denomination.
While on the surface this expectation may seem self-serving for our Valley Forge office, please know that it is your special role of being closest to churches and clergy as well as connected with ABC systems that makes a huge difference. You serve us all well with this work in that many clergy have found interim ministry to be their greatest satisfaction. In behalf of the churches, you serve the unique niche for the recovery and renewal of special-need churches all across this country.
